"I love you, Dark Phoenix Saga." "And I, you."

What I read recently: X-Men (first series) #129-137, a.k.a., "The Dark Phoenix Saga."

What I wrote recently: A piece at MGK about the topic named above.

No, I can't believe I'd never read it before, either. I'd been fraudulently posing as A Dude Who Knows His Business When It Comes To Comics all this time.

I find it best not to know anything about the subject I'm debating. That way I'm not bound by having to make true statements.

Oh man, that's a funny title!

It might be fun to talk like a Claremont character for a day (surprises would be met with "By the eternal!" ... or perhaps "Lenin's Ghost!" because of my Russian ancestry), but I don't know what my co-workers would think about being called "People" collectively ("Let's move, people!"), and my wife would not appreciate me calling her "lover" all the time.

I don't think she should start worrying until strangers are calling her "lover."

I think your coworkers might be forgiving if you called them "people" as long as the rest of your speech was consistent with the ridiculousness.
